Something a bit different today — I’ve been asked to write for 60 Singles, a dating and community site built specifically for people over 60, and I said yes without hesitating.
If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ll know that relationships later in life are my thing. The mess, the courage, the starting over. I’ve lived it, I coach people through it, and I never get tired of talking about it. So when 60 Singles got in touch and asked if I’d contribute, it felt like a natural fit.
My first piece for them is called Finding Companionship Again Later in Life, and it’s a gentle look at what it actually takes to ease back into company after being on your own — whether that’s through widowhood, divorce, or just the way life unfolded. I wrote about the loneliness that people don’t always admit to, why you don’t have to leap into anything, and how companionship later in life isn’t some consolation prize. For a lot of people, it turns out to be one of the happiest chapters they’ve had.
You can read the full piece on 60 Singles.
I’ll be writing more for them going forward – about relationships, dating, and finding connection as an older, divorced, or widowed person. It’s a conversation that matters, and honestly, it’s one I think we need a lot more of.
